Technical Specialist III in GAC Savannah


Unique Skills:

DUTIES : Work on engineering projects containing critical problems, the solution of which requires major technological advances and extensive related development. Be responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within established scope. Make technical decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities. Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge. Lead the development of innovative principles and ideas. Act independently to determine improved methods and/or procedures to optimize technical product, cost, and schedule requirements. Work under consultative direction, using independent judgment to accomplish objectives. Develop standards and guides for diverse engineering activities. Conceive and plan investigations of broad areas of importance for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas critical to the program. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

R EQUIREMENTS : Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field required. Thirteen years of experience in job offered or related engineering position required, including any experience with: avionics and/or electronic systems development and integration; development with one or more systems within head-up displays, enhanced flight vision systems, communications, weather radar, traffic collision avoidance systems, transponders, inertial reference systems, attitude and heading reference systems, integrated standby instrument systems, and air data; FAA (14 CFR Part 25) and/or EASA (CS-25) certification; safety assessment and safety management standards; and experience with certification authorities in multiple jurisdictions with regard to customer safety and serviceability requirements. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field and thirteen years of experience, Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field and eleven years of above-listed experience or a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field and nine years of above-listed experience.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 13 yrs specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
