Position : Database Analyst

Duration : 6 Months Contract

Location : Raleigh, NC (Onsite from Day 1)

Interview : In-person required in Raleigh, NC

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Database Analyst to support audit and investigation activities. This role is critical in collecting, analyzing, and visualizing complex datasets to identify financial trends, anomalies, and potential fraud across various state agencies. You'll be embedded within cross-functional teams, leveraging data to deliver meaningful insights that drive transparency and accountability in government operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Extract, clean, and analyze large-scale datasets from government sources.
• Identify patterns and anomalies to support audit investigations.
• Create data models, dashboards, and visualizations for reports and findings.
• Collaborate with auditors and investigators to provide data-driven insights.
• Automate routine data processes and reports.
• Maintain data security and ensure compliance with relevant laws.
• Present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in developing predictive models to flag potential fraud, waste, or inefficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Business Analytics, or related field (Master's preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in data analysis (preferably in government , auditing , or financial sectors ).
• Proficiency in SQL , Python , or R .
• Experience with Tableau , Power BI , or similar data visualization tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills to present complex data clearly.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of auditing principles, government accounting, or financial regulations.
• Exposure to machine learning , predictive analytics , or data mining .
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
