Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Project Manager with experience in underground wet utilities. The successful candidate will support the Project Manager in coordinating and managing various project activities to ensure efficient execution and completion.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Project Manager in overseeing and directing Project Engineers through all essential job responsibilities.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Aid in setting up and implementing job procedures to ensure timely buyout, shop drawing approval, and material deliveries.
  • Review construction plans, submittals, and specifications for compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate in maintaining and updating project schedules and budgets.
  • Develop and maintain a good relationship with Owners, Vendors and Subcontractors.
  • Assist in developing value-engineered solutions when applicable.
  • Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, and project documentation requirements.
  • Collaborate on managing potential cost impacts and preparing change orders.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years of construction experience, with a minimum of 2 years specifically in underground wet utilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong communication skills with clients, subcontractors, and design consultants.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Bluebeam.
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting construction documents, plans and specs.
  • Knowledge of California Public Works requirements is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
